Here are a few top tips to help you make the best job of pricking out your vegetable seedlings.
- Once the seedlings are large enough to hold, you can thin them out and put them into larger pots.
- Don’t be tempted to try to keep all the seedlings – there will be some wastage. You may be able to give some away to someone else.
- Hold by the leaves, not the stem, and gently lift out of the soil, disturbing the roots as little as possible.
- Replant in individual pots and water gently.
- Keep under protection until they are well grown and there is no more danger of frost.
